DC MASTERS HELP TO SPONSOR TRAVELING EXHIBIT ABOUT THE

INTERNATIONAL MASTERS SWIMMING HALL OF FAME

Your Board of Directors decided in February to use a significant portion of the treasury to help sponsor the traveling exhibit of the newly formed INTERNATIONAL MASTERS SWIMMING HALL OF FAME. This came about after a conversation Jayne Bruner had with the director of IMSHOF regarding how the club might help the Hall of Fame and advertise the outstanding performance of the DC Masters. The Board felt this was an opportunity to honor not only the two DCM inductees to the IMSHOF, but all those who have participated in the club for over three decades.

After the unanimous vote by the Board to donate $10,000 to upgrade and endow the traveling exhibit the DCM Board spent a Saturday writing a concise history of DCM and selecting several representative photographs to submit for the exhibit. When the exhibit is not on the road it may be viewed at the IMSHOF.

The partially upgraded display was at the USMS Short Course Nationals in Tempe last week. The larger boards feature past inductees and the names of the 2004 inductees (see attachment #1, Entire Display). On the table is a small three part display with a short history of DC Masters, a picture of our banner, a photo of many teams awards won by DC Masters, and a separate Tribute to DCM for sponsoring the exhibit (see attachment #2, Three Part Display and attachment #3, Tribute to DCM). There is also a notebook with 8x10 photos of the club at various national meets and selected relays from the past thirty years. Your Board of Directors felt that this would be a lasting tribute to the accomplishments of DC Masters as a club. The notebook has nine photos as follows (no attachments of these photos are included here):

  1. Mixed relay - Providence, 1985: Jayne Bruner, Joann Leilich, Chuck Bechtel, Art Smith
